Suzanita became intrigued with dance at an early age after seeing “The Nutcracker” on stage. Thereafter, she began her dance training in ballet, tap, and jazz. As her love for dance grew, she found the need to continue to grow and develop in her ultimate love, ballet, in technique and style. This led her to the Blanca Luz Academy of Performing Arts, with Giselle as Artistic Director. Under the tutelage of Blanca Luz and Giselle, Suzanita began to mature in her ballet. The Blanca Luz Academy also provided dance training in the beautiful art of flamenco as well. Little did she know that when Giselle asked her ballet class one day, “Would you all like to learn flamenco?” that she would come to love and appreciate so much it’s passion and beauty. Her ballet background helped her greatly in learning the different lines, personalities, and zapateado (footwork) involved in flamenco dancing. Suzanita has now been dancing flamenco (and loving it!) for the past 14 years.
